In Memory

William H. Hodsdon

Shauna's father, Bill Hodsdon, died in his sleep on Saturday, February 19th of this year. We are all deeply saddened by the loss of Bill, and we regret he won't be able to share in the joy of the wedding. On our wedding day, our thoughts will be on Bill, and I know he will be looking down on us with love and grace.

Shauna's family would like everyone to remember Bill by this poem which was read at his memorial service.

To laugh often and much;
to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty;
to find the best in others;
to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition;
to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.

Richard J. Smith

January 3, 1941 - March 5, 2005

Tragically, Richard J. Smith, Rich's uncle on his father's side, passed away suddenly on March 5th of this year. Uncle Richard was very close to Rich's Dad, Charles, and his other brother, Tom. We will miss Uncle Richard at the wedding, and I'm sure he will be watching the proceedings as well.

Here is Uncle Richard's obituary from the Garden City Telegram...
